This exhibition showcases the talents of regional K-12 art teachers through the artworks they have created beyond the classrooms in which they teach. These artworks show us how impactful it can be for teachers to be practicing artists themselves. They become even greater role models for their students by demonstrating first-hand the power of imagination, empathy, and empowerment through the creation of their own art. Art educators help students become more rounded and capable individuals by modeling creative thinking, problem solving, decision making, and original thought. The teachers' artworks featured in this exhibition provide our community's young people with inspiration as they learn new artistic tools that will help them in the future. We applaud and recognize the teaching artists in Beyond the Classroom and hope that their creative achievements inspire not only their students, but the entire community.
