About
Young Artists at the Figge
Each year, the Figge presents six district exhibitions of elementary artwork in our Mary Waterman Gildehaus Community Gallery. Through this museum-school partnership, more than 500 area students have the opportunity to display their artwork at the Figge. These annual exhibits are also important because the museum is able to recognize quality visual arts programs in the schools. In addition, the recognition ceremonies introduce young artists and their families to the Figge. This past year, nearly 2,000 people attended these events; many were first-time museum visitors.
The Figge would like to thank US Bank for sponsoring the Davenport Community Schools recognition ceremony, and Deb and Doug Roberts for sponsoring the Pleasant Valley Community Schools recognition ceremony. Additional sponsorship for these exhibitions and receptions sponsored by the Brand Boeshaar Foundation. If you or someone you know would like to sponsor one of these special family events, contact the Figge’s development office at 563.326.7804 x2007.
